SILZ Counselling & Psychotherapy is a private practice founded by Priscilla Wingard, offering counselling and psychotherapy for adults across Australia via telehealth, with face-to-face sessions available by arrangement.

I came to this work through a long-standing interest in psychology, biology, philosophy, and the quantum field. I am fascinated by how human cope with difficulty, how we protect ourselves, how we love, and how we find our way back when life hardens us.

Over nine years of clinical experience in community counselling, I've supported people in their most challenging times, through grief, anxiety, relationship strain, burnout, identity shifts, and the quiet exhaustion of holding it all together.

My approach

Therapy with SILZ is collaborative, grounded, and practical. You won't be lectured or analysed; you’ll be met with warmth and honesty, and we'll work carefully with what's true for you in your life.

My work is paced with deep respect for your nervous system. That means we go at a speed that supports safety and integration, especially when life has been overwhelming or when old patterns are deeply wired.

Depending on what you need, sessions may include:

  • Making sense of patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships
  • Building steadier ways to regulate stress and overwhelm
  • Strengthening boundaries and communication
  • Exploring meaning, values, and the parts of you that feel split, stuck, or conflicted
  • Gentle, practical between-session experiments to help change land in everyday life

Ethical practice and working within scope

SILZ is committed to ethical, respectful, and client-centred care.

Working within a professional scope of practice means I provide support that is evidence-informed and within my training and competence, with clear boundaries around what counselling can and cannot offer.

Some clients I work with live with a diagnosed mental illness or complex symptoms. Counselling can still be supportive in these circumstances, and where appropriate, I may recommend additional supports (such as your GP, a psychologist, or a psychiatrist). With your consent, I can liaise with other health professionals involved in your care to support coordinated treatment.

If your needs fall outside my scope, we will talk openly about referral options so you can access the right level of care.

Referrals

Referrals are welcome from GPs and allied health professionals, and you are also welcome to self-refer.

If you would like to know whether I'm the right fit for what you're carrying, you're welcome to reach out with a brief enquiry. We can discuss your goals, what support might look like, and whether SILZ is the right next step for you.
